ELECTRONIC WORLDS, MADE PHYSICAL

COMPOSER • LIVE ELECTRONIC PERFORMER

RIŽIK is the artist project of Los Angeles-based composer and live performer Hisham Dahud, exploring the physicality of electronic music — the relationship between body, machine, and space.

Moving between electronic composition, acoustic piano, live drums, hardware, and improvisation, RIŽIK approaches electronic music as something to be played, inhabited, and experienced — not simply programmed or reproduced.

That philosophy takes three distinct forms.

TAME THE MACHINE explores the machine as instrument: a fully live electronic performance built around hardware, improvisation, musicianship, and risk. With no DJ set or backing tracks, Dahud builds and reshapes the music in real time, placing human action at the center of the machine.

MAKĀN (مكان — “place”) explores the relationship between music and environment. Through site-responsive composition and performance, RIŽIK creates music in dialogue with architecture, artwork, acoustics, landscape, history, and atmosphere — allowing each space to become part of the score.

SOLŌ returns to music at its most elemental: artist and instrument. Built around Dahud’s original compositions for piano, SOLŌ strips away the machines entirely — leaving only the performer, the piano, and the room.

Together, the three practices ask the same underlying question:

What happens when music becomes physical again?

In 2026, Dahud also founded M/O/R/E — Musicality, Originality, Risk, Evolution — a global community for live electronic musicians to learn, connect, and perform. Beginning as a live event series in Los Angeles, M/O/R/E has grown into a broader platform for advancing live electronic performance through education, community, artist development, and curated performance.

Before launching RIŽIK, Dahud spent more than a decade behind the scenes working with artists including Richie Hawtin, Junkie XL, and DJ Shadow, alongside work in film composition and artist development.
